In this particular study, the twins, Amy and Beth, were brou ght to two separate homes after birth. Amy was placed in a family where she was seen as a problem and was treated like an outsider. Amy’s mother was physically unfit and suffered from low self esteem.In contrast, Beth was treated well in the family she was adopted in and her mother did everything she can to make Beth a real part of the family. The results showed that during childhood, both child manifested same habits as â€Å"thumb-sucking, nail-biting, blanket-clenching, and bed-wetting. (1997)† Moreover, they were both afraid of being left alone. Both had school problems and problems among friends and schoolmates. Though Amy had a good mother, her psychological tests show she had â€Å"a longing for maternal affection,† which as maintained by Wright â€Å"was eerily the same as her identical sister's† (1997).Apparently, basing from the results of the study, despite growing up in different conditions, Amy and Beth were alike pathologically (Wright 1997) . In addition to this, Wright mentions that â€Å"Matters that instinctively seem to be a reflection of one's personal experience, such as political orientation or the degree of religious commitment, have been shown by various twin studies to be partly under genetic control† (1997). This demonstrates how significant a part genetics play alongside environment.On the basis of this study, Wright believes that despite external factors, genetics still rule and determine a person’s traits. If the students are out on the streets committing crimes rather than attending school, why should the taxpaying citizens even bother to continue pouring money into their schools? Most of these children will drop out before they graduate from high school anyway. The question that we must ask ourselves is this: whats the point? Originally and fittingly called Centro Escolar de Seà ±oritas, the institution offered an education program whose set-up and guiding philosophy are provided in Article IV of the by-laws governing the college: The purpose for which the corporation is constituted is the opening of primary, intermediate and secondary classes, and later on the collegiate departments, and the teaching of the subjects which refer to physical, intellectual, moral and civic training of the individual. The constitution and the by-laws of the Centro Escolar de Seà ±oritas was approved on June 10, 1910, three years after its establishment. The educational philosophy of the founder is reflected in the academic and civic training she and her colleagues gave the students. Their participation in civic public events had always been one of the typical characteristics of the pedagogy of Doà ±a Ada. It was her aim to bring out the Filipino woman from her femininity and respect for valued tradition. Doà ±a Ada practically shouldered the entire responsibility for the successful administration of the school from the date of its founding to her death on November 9, 1934. Among the first faculty members of the Centro Escolar were Josue Soncuya lawyer, educator; Manuel Revago – eminent orator and man oof letters; Alberto Campos – former captain of the Spanish Army. Later, two of the stalwarts joined the pioneer. Miss Generosa de Leon, an AB graduate of CEU (1910), served as Registrar and Treasurer from 1921 up to her death on October 11, 1962. Conception A. Aguila joined the Centro Escolar de Seà ±oritas as kindergarten teacher in 1921, then served subsequently as high school teacher, college instructor, principal and supervisor. At the time of her death on September 6, 1959, Dr. Aguila was legal and educational consultant, executive director and dean of the Graduate School. The Dance

My twenty-year-old daughter Brandy called me the other night. While we were talking, she asked me if I remembered the day we watched a spider spin its web. I told her that I did, and she went on to tell me that the experience was one of her fondest childhood memories. She was a little surprised when I told her it was also one of my favorite parenting memories! Our family consisted of myself, my wife Sharon, Scott, my twelve-year-old stepson, eight-year-old Hugh, seven-year-old Brandy, five-year-old Justin, two cats and a Labrador mix named Mitch. Since our apartment had only a small yard, the kids and I would take Mitch on short daily walks during the week. On the weekends, whenever possible, we would take him on long walks through our small coastal community. During one of these weekend walks, we saw the spider. It was Sunday afternoon on a beautiful California spring day. The sun was shining while the birds added their sweet melodies. The air was filled with that special atmosphere of newness that is unique to springtime. My four children, Mitch and I were headed east, down Ninth Street. Ninth Street, in this part of town, is mostly small shops and offices, and most of these are closed on Sundays. Mitch, like all dogs, felt bound to investigate every tree or shrub along the path. As he was inspecting an oleander shrub in front of a small flower shop with an alcove, I noticed the spider scurrying about in the left corner of the alcove. Since most of the spiders I encounter usually just sit around waiting for lunch, I stepped over to investigate this little flurry of activity. It appeared the little fellow was building a new home. The spider had already built the main structure of its spiral web. The supporting rays of silk were attached to various points on the stucco wall and window casing, and the first few spirals, at the center of the rays, had been completed. I gathered the kids into the alcove and showed them the web. Mitch, having lost interest in the oleander, settled into the shade of the alcove for a nap. As we watched, the spider began a fascinating dance! Its eight legs moved swiftly in a repeating sequence, while its abdomen pivoted from one ray to the next spinning silk, all the while moving in an ever expanding spiral. We continued to watch the little spider until it reached what it, and Mother Nature, determined to be the outer ring of its new home. Every one of us, except Mitch (who was still napping), were enchanted and impressed with the performance. The spider, however, appeared oblivious to our adulation. As we continued our walk, we talked about the spider over and over. When we got back home, all four children kept interrupting each other in their eagerness to describe to their mother what they had seen. Hugh did an enthusiastic imitation of the spider's dance, wiggling his fanny to and fro while gesticulating wildly with his arms and legs. His efforts had us all laughing until we had tears in our eyes. I have always been charmed by the natural world: the acrobatics of squirrels, the cooing of pigeons, the soaring flight of hawks and falcons. Just the sight of a dragonfly sitting still on the end of my fishing pole grips my soul and fascinates my eyes. I had always hoped that I would pass my love of nature on to my children, so that they too would know the particular wonder that only nature can inspire. At the time as I watched and listened to my children's excitement over the simple dance of a small spider, I felt my hope might be becoming a reality. Knowing that the memory is still cherished by Brandy thirteen years later I feel sure she, at least, got the lesson right.

It was a miserable rainy day in the middle of the summer and I was excited. I was going to Pakistan with my family. Everyone was getting ready to go to the airport. Clothes flying out of suitcases. Everyone kept on bumping into each other again, again and again. The cab was taking ages to come and I thought we will never arrive there on time but eventually it came. We put everything in the cab and I checked one last time to see if I have everything. We arrived at the airport with not a minute to spare. We ran to the counter and checked in. As we were boarding the plane we got the flight information. On the plane it seemed like months and months but it only took us 8 hours to arrive there. All my family and cousins were waiting there patiently for us to come out. After coming of the plain all are luggage got missed placed so we had to look for it but finally the luggage was found and returned to us. It starting as a good day but gradually it was getting worse and worse. As we good out the airport in Pakistan it was a hot sizzling day. I was so excited to see my cousins. I haven’t seen them in 2-3 years. They were all taller than me so I felt really short like an ant. Finally we got home I was too tired to talk so I fell asleep. The next morning I woke up and we went to the theme park and then we went to the mosque. We went to the mountains were my dad grew up. After staying there for 4 weeks I was sad and didn’t feel like coming to back to London. As we got to the airport I forgot to bring my passport so we had to go back and get it. I only had half an hour to get it. The good thing was I only lived 10 minutes away but if there was traffic I wouldn’t make it so me and my cousin ran to the car and went luckily there was no traffic so we made it on time and I was so relieved that I made it. We got back to London all miserable and sad. After a couple of days I started to get over the fact we are not in Pakistan and next day I had to go back to school which cheered me up because I haven’t seen my friends for ages.

Better access to health care for the disadvantaged would improve society on the whole as they would be better able to find and to remain healthy on their jobs thus becoming more productive contributors to society.†¨ In order to improve the quality of life for all, reforms in healthcare practice and academia need to be initiated. There is no room for political bias and unfounded claims for opposition if there is to be any improvement in the health of the population. Health care should be accepted as an essential human right, not a privilege. Social and financial factors must be eliminated when access to care is assessed in order to improve the health of the population and improve society.
